North Star High School selected its athletes of the month for May — Eli Brougher and Emily Coddington.
Eli Brougher is the son of Bryan and Heather Brougher. He participates in varsity club and part of the school news. He plays football, wrestling and baseball, and was named District 5 wrestling champ.
Brougher plans to attend IUP.
Emily Coddington is the daughter of Eric and Malinda Coddington. She participates in National Honor Society, Pep Club, North Star Youth Outreach and church youth group. She is on the North Star cross country, track and soccer teams.
Coddington was named two-time All-County First Team Soccer, three-time WestPAC All Conference track team, two-time District 5 1600m champion, three-time District 5 4x100 Relay champion, three-time District 5 4x400 Relay champion, 4x400 Relay 8th place state medal, 4x100 Relay fourth place state medal, two-time District 5 Cross Country champion, seventh place State Cross Country medal, Central Western Pennsylvania All Area Cross Country Team, All-State Cross Country Team, and All East Coast Cross Country Team.
She plans to attend Tusculum University in Tennessee to major in special education as part of its cross country and track and field teams.
